Frequently asked

What is Matchside?+
Matchside is a tennis scoring app for parents. You tap who won each point courtside, and it turns that into a live, animated broadcast with two AI announcers — plus stats, a highlight reel, and a link you can share so family can watch from anywhere. No camera or filming needed.
How do I get Matchside?+
Matchside is an iPhone app. Until it's on the App Store, you can install it through Apple's free TestFlight app: install TestFlight from the App Store, then open our TestFlight link on your iPhone and tap Accept. The App Store listing will replace this link the moment it's live.Matchside is a free iPhone app — get it on the App Store. Scoring, your full stats, your match history and watching anything shared with you are free; see the pricing question below for what isn't.
How do I score a match and share the broadcast?+
Set up the match, pick your players, and tap who wins each point as you go. When you're ready to share, Matchside gives you a link — send it to whoever you'd like to watch. They can follow along live or catch the replay afterward. Your matches are saved to your history automatically.
I can't hear the broadcast audio.+
Start with the volume — turn it up, and make sure nothing else on the phone is playing. The broadcast plays fine with your phone on silent, so you don't need to touch the ring/silent switch. Watching inside the Matchside app gives the most reliable sound; if you're in a web browser and still hear nothing, try opening the link in the app instead.
Notifications aren't coming through.+
Make sure notifications are enabled for Matchside in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Matchside, and that you've accepted the follow invite for the player. Following is invite-only, so you'll only get pings for players you've been invited to follow.
Is Matchside safe for kids?+
Yes — that's a first principle. The minimum age is 13, and it's built privacy-first: matches aren't public (a broadcast is only reachable with its exact link, and pages aren't search-indexed), following is invite-only, and one-off opponents are shown by first name and rating only — never a full name. We run no ads and never sell data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete a match, a player, or my whole account?+
You can delete any individual match or player profile from within the app. To delete your entire account, open Settings › Delete account. Your data stops being reachable immediately — every player, every match and its stats, any broadcasts you produced (their share links stop working), and your login. We hold it for 30 days in case you change your mind: sign back in within that window and everything is restored. After 30 days it's erased for good and we can't recover it. If you'd rather we did it, email hello@foundryforty1.com from the address on your account. See Privacy → Keeping & deleting data.
What does it cost?+
Scoring, your full stats, your match history, and watching any broadcast someone shares with you are free — with no cap and no expiry. We charge for two things. A plan (from $4.99/month) adds the season view — trends across matches, how matches are won, rating over time — and following, so family gets notified when your player goes on court; Pro and Max plans also include monthly broadcast credits. Producing a new AI broadcast costs real GPU and AI time every time it runs, so broadcasts come as credits — included with Pro and Max, or bought one, three, or six at a time. Fans who only want to follow a player can get a Fan Pass for $2.99/month. There is no unlimited tier at any price. You'll always see exactly what a broadcast costs before you spend anything.
What is a credit?+
One credit produces one AI broadcast. You spend it deliberately — when you tap to produce and share a match — and never by accident; someone watching your match can't spend your credits. Once a broadcast is produced, it's viewable forever by anyone with the link, at no further cost. Subscription credits roll over for one month up to your plan's cap; credits from a credit pack are good for 12 months from purchase. Credits aren't money and can't be cashed out or transferred. If a broadcast fails to generate, email us and we'll put the credit back.
How do I cancel, or get a refund?+
To cancel: open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Matchside, then Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Note that deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

For a refund: Apple handles all billing for the App Store, so refunds go through them — visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. If something broke on our end, email hello@foundryforty1.com too and we'll make it right on our side regardless of what Apple decides.
I found a bug or have a request.+
Please tell us — it genuinely helps. Email hello@foundryforty1.com with what happened (and a screenshot if you have one). Your feedback shapes what we build next.

Report a problem or concern

If you see content or behavior that concerns you — including anything involving a minor's safety or privacy — report it inside the app (the flag icon on any broadcast, or Report / Block on a player's profile), or email hello@foundryforty1.com with the details and any link involved. We review every report, and we act on anything involving a minor's safety within 24 hours.
